Artists Adam Martyniak
Genre Object
Edition Survival 13

Overproduction, overconsumption and excessive gathering of things, which characterises the so-called Western world, inevitably leads to millions of dumpsites which hardly manage to utilise the degraded goods. The items used in Martyniak’s object were found in water-bearing areas in Wrocław, where they had been secretly dumped due to their uselessness. Now the artist has returned them to people. Therefore, the object may be treated as a depiction of pangs of conscience, a “mirror” that reflects the wild landscape of what the contemporary civilisation churns out.
