Race Rankings

The work refers ironically to the ranking published by one of the most opinion-forming art magazines in Poland. The list includes one hundred best and most influential artists, curators and critics. The authors of the work cast doubt on the sense of such comparisons, which have little to do with the factual artistic or curatorial accomplishments. Referring to the sports discipline of a hurdle race constitutes a reflection on the rules governing art, which is entangled in a mash of influences and set-ups. The names included in the list reveal how important it is in the Polish art world to build position and prestige.
