Protection

curator: Dy Tagowska

In Karina Marusińska’s work, we witness an absurd situation in which elements normally used to protect shop goods against theft become protected objects themselves. The characteristic loud sound of movement sensors is triggered by a visitor attempting to reach for one of the ceramic objects. However, it only happens in some of the cases. It is hard to understand any logic that would lead to considering a certain action as a violation of the law. Guessing the acceptable boundaries in the artwork-recipient relationship thus becomes a challenge.
