Untitled

The work uses a mirror to highlight an extant object. This piece of factory equipment – an extraction fan – becomes a technical curiosity functioning on the margins of the exhibition. However, the aesthetic dimension of the mechanism and its hypnotic, revolving movement could successfully trigger an impression in the visitors that they are looking at a carefully thought-over artistic installation.
Anna Kołodziejczyk’s intervention could be situated within practice that is typical of SURVIVAL – the permeation of artworks and readymades. This trick lets the viewers in on a secret by revealing the process of looking for inspiration by contemporary artists and endowing the work with an additional layer of meaning.
