The installation is inspired by dreams lent to me by volunteers. ft is part of an open-ended dream archive project, organised around the principle of weaving together stories that initiate each other. ft is the opposite of the classic dream book, in which dreams and desires are forced into binary definitions. The work opens up a space free from the post-Enlightenment idea that credibility depends on scientific and anthropocentric dogmas, sanctioned by patriarchy; from the hierarchical distribution of know/edge that perpetuates the current power structures; from the infantilisation of dreams and the medicalisation of dreamers, characteristic of Freudian ana/ysis, among others; from the canon of truthfu/ness that gives (and takes a way) meanings. I believe in the rea/ness and autonomy of the dream universe. I am interested in the story, not in its interpretation (cf. Susan Sontag’s Against lnterpretation). To this end, instead of /ooking for ruf es, I look for experiences. I do not collect meanings; I collect dreams as they happened. I make connections between the dreams I have been given, I expand them and inc/ude in new threads. I try to create a situation in which the war/ds revealed in this way cannot be dismissed as secondary to reality. On the contrary – they also fal/ within its spectrum.
