Not Only Goodness Comes from Heaven
[period gate leading to the synagogue courtyard]
curator: Piotr Stasiowski
The inscription, modelled to look like an iron ribbon resembling the one above the gate leading to Auschwitz, had been removed from a gate opposite the synagogue two days before the opening of the festival on the rabbi’s demand. The quotation, which was borrowed from the ideology of an occult group Vrill, to which belonged many Nazis during World War II, refers to a universal truth about the oppresive character of totalitarian regimes.
