Recovery Portals (You Haven’t Learned Anything For All Of These Years), 2020
- painting
Remains of the artist’s old works and projects as well as fragments of unnecessary fabrics and damaged clothes were used to create the paintings. Partially burnt or dyed, they were pasted together with self-prepared paints made from natural pigments and boiled extracts from expired food products. Archival graphics and prints were also transferred onto the canvases, enhancing the depth of the images. The entire process lasted several months, taking the form of a strongly ritualistic, everyday practice of putting on subsequent layers and examining the materials and materiality of the painting.
