Siesta
(…) Beata Stankiewicz tries to show the process of creation at its core. For her films reveal the moment which lies at the heart of all art: the primeval disturbance and surprise at things simply happening, which gives sense and value to bits of everyday life, even if they are seemingly accidental (…). Fragments become sense units, that is certain entireties. Paradoxally, what is accidental, with a bit of effort and concentration turns into something important and basic.
