Impossible Confession
A recording of several adults contains their descriptions of acts they considered harmful to themselves or other people. With respect to the form, all the utterances have the same status; however, the speakers’ social status does differ – some of them are free while others are serving their time in prison. In this way, equal rights have been granted to the narratives of those who inflicted suffering, irrespective of whether they are at large or not. We hear all the confessions from behind a closed door, which may symbolise detachment.
