Attention

The installation made by Łoznikow and Wojtyła was one of the most theatrical elements in the 12th edition of SURVIVAL. The glowing beacon lights triggered a ceaseless feeling of phantom threat. Attention drew on the associations triggered by beacon lights of police cars or fire engines. They almost always herald unfortunate events, accidents of all sorts. Thus the viewer was automatically alarmed, but due to the lack of any danger, he was left alone with this feeling. As the artists said, the installation “creates a theatre stage, and this time we are assigned the role of passive onlookers.” The work seemed to transfer us to a crime scene.
