The Right Place

Borrowed from the song The Right Place by the punk-rock band 19 Wiosen, the quote is painted on the Auditorium’s façade with self-made paint. The band is known for its lyrical melodeclamations alternating with shouting out fragments of uncompromising poetry describing apocalyptic prophesies. It often refers to brutal and painful everyday life.

The paint, which was made by hand in a mortar by pestling soil from a flower pot in the main hall of the Auditorium and a natural binder (oil and yolks), reminds us of the centuries-long tradition of artistsalchemists. The ingredients also trigger associations with the first pigments used in cave painting.
