The Source of Work

In close proximity of the bustling production floor of the Lathing Machines Factory there is an abandoned washroom. It used to be one of few spaces in the factory where the workers could experience relative silence during the working hours, where the sounds produced by people and machines were somewhat muted. It is in this place that Kornelia Dzikowska decided to situate a “zone of relax”. She has revived the decrepit bathroom by transforming one of the sinks into a rather small fountain. This inconspicuous intervention changes the character of the space. The murmuring water relieves stress and makes it possible to momentarily forget the noise coming from the factory. The small spring is a reminder that even symbolic presence of nature in the workplace can heal human mind and body.
