Genre Installation
Edition Survival 10

In a dark utility room, under the stands, there was a considerable collection of medals illuminated by blue lights. In his installation entitled Rewards, Marek Grzyb referred to the history of the ‘Oławka’ stadium, which for many years used to function as a popular open-air market ‘Niskie Łąki’ – a mine of peculiar items and a haven for collectors of junk. Most of the elements of the installation were obtained by the author at this very bazaar. In his work, the artist makes a reference to the passion for collecting as a kind of untypical sports discipline. The way of showing the items highlights the human desire for searching and finding magic hidden in things of mysterious and ambiguous origins.
