The video is an audiovisual journey that follows the idea that the grass is always greener on the other side – that on the other end of the world it must be warmer, better, the other way round. It is an attempt to catch up with this imagined picture. T.S. Eliot’s poem mentions Philomel, transformed into a nightingale so that she can escape the harm that befell her. Using commonly available tools such as the internet and Google Maps, Gołaś tries to subject the viewer to a similar metamorphosis. Her complaints, just like Philomel’s, sound like a song. The rendered image of the world is simultaneously interesting and scary. In the water we see the peaceful life of the coral and the happy dolphins. But also a huge island of plastic. The artist does not make the final decision, leaving the viewer with an objective satellite image.
